Information Collection and Use
You may visit this website without providing us with personally identifiable information about yourself. However, to access certain services, we may ask you to provide personally identifiable information; unless you choose to do so, you may be unable to access certain services.
The following is personally identifiable information you may provide to us and how we use it:
- Interactive Prescreener. If you choose to complete our interactive prescreener for purposes of determining your or another individual’s eligibility for participation in the SCiStar Study (the “Study”), you will be asked to provide information such as name, address, telephone number and email address, as well as certain medical information regarding you and/or the other individual. The data will be collected through the website and provided to Clinical Trial Media, a vendor of Asterias (not to Asterias itself), which will evaluate the information to determine if it suggests eligibility to participate in the Study. If Clinical Trial Media finds the information suggests potential eligibility for the Study, it will refer your information, with your consent, to a clinical research study site. The site may then use that information to contact you to further explore the potential eligibility of you or the other individual on whose behalf you completed the prescreener.
If your data is transferred to a clinical research study site as described above, Clinical Trial Media will retain a copy of the information as well. Records identifying you will be kept confidential in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and the consents you provide.
Asterias is the owner of all information collected on this website. With the exception of the information collected through the Study prescreener as described above, any information we collect through the website may be used for analytics purposes (e.g., evaluating site usage patterns, assessing throughput) so we can gauge the effectiveness of our programs and improve the usefulness of information presented to users.
Our websites are not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. Moreover, we do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian, and you must be 18 years of age or older to submit information. Should you believe a minor of whom you are a parent or guardian has provided us with any information, please contact us at info@SCiStarstudy.com and we will make reasonable efforts to remove all personally identifiable information related to the minor.
