SCiStar Study Eligibility Requirements
SCiStar researchers are seeking participants for a clinical research study evaluating the safety and activity of AST-OPC1 oligodendrocyte progenitor cells, an investigational agent for newly injured people with sensorimotor cervical spinal cord injury. Study participants must meet the following criteria:
- 18 to 69 years of age
- Recently experienced a cervical (in the neck) spinal cord injury resulting in the partial or total paralysis of both the arms and legs
- Able to begin study screening within 37 days of injury
- Able to participate in an elective surgical procedure to inject AST-OPC1 21 to 42 days following injury
- Able to provide consent and commit to long-term follow-up
The study has additional eligibility criteria to ensure the safety of study participants. These additional criteria will be reviewed with potential participants by the clinical site investigators.
